Trainer: PC Tom Scott
A unique insight into the world of the families affected by the arrest of a family member for online child sexual offence from a police officer who worked for 3 years, exclusively in this field.
PC Tom Scott from Lincolnshire police, delivers an in-depth look at what happens after the initial shock and what struggles are faced by families, police and other agencies and how this can affect the journey of the person displaying harmful behaviors.
As part of a groundbreaking role, Tom created a service that had not been available in the UK before which highlighted the previously ignored consequences on the families following a loved one’s arrest. He will provide expert knowledge and challenge how people perceive the indirect victims of this specific crime and how things need to change in order to help rehabilitation, reduce harm and prevent reoffending.
