Internet offences are a growing problem with around 500 people caught each month. Couples and families are devastated and this CPD is aimed at therapists who wish to work with the couple
relationship. It includes advice on working with couples where one partner has become addicted to porn and/or downloaded illegal images or engaged in sexualised chat with a child.
The CPD shows how the therapist can support clients in exploring their intense emotions: stigma, doubts, fears, trust, intimacy, trauma, conflict and shame of the situation they find themselves in.
The CPD provides ideas on how to help both partners to establish some stability in their relationship whilst at the same time recognising their need to manage future risks. Techniques to provide
support to facilitate survival and future intimacy or to facilitate a healthy separation are discussed.
